Biodiversity in a Nutshell
Biodiversity refers to the variety of all living things on
Earth, including differences within species (various subspecies of bears),
between species (from tiny bacteria to large elephants), and among ecosystems
(from coral reefs to deserts). It includes genetic, species, and ecosystem
diversity, reflecting ecological, genetic, and functional variations (adapted
from Díaz & Malhi, 2022 and Me!).
